Privacy policy
Last updated 19 October 2026
This policy explains how BKL Consulting Ltd ("I", "me") collects and uses personal information when you visit this website, get in touch, or work with me.
Who I am
BKL Consulting Ltd is the data controller for your personal information. The company is registered in England and Wales, company number 17173259, with its registered office at 594 Southmead Road, Westbury-on-Trym, Bristol, BS10 5NH.
For any privacy question, email info@bklconsulting.co.uk.
What I collect
- When you get in touch: your name, email address, phone number, business name and anything you include in your message.
- When you book a call: your name, email address, company and what you would like help with. Bookings are made through Calendly, which handles them on its own website under its own privacy policy.
- When you become a client: contact and billing details, and the business and financial information needed to do the work. This can include personal information about your staff, customers or suppliers held in your records.
- For identity checks: as a CIMA practising accountant I must carry out anti-money laundering checks, which may include proof of identity and address for business owners.
This website does not use analytics or advertising cookies, and it does not track you.
How I use it, and why I'm allowed to
- To reply to your enquiry and discuss working together. This is in my legitimate interests, or a step you've asked for before entering a contract.
- To deliver the services we agree, send invoices and manage our working relationship. This is necessary to perform our contract.
- To meet legal and professional duties, such as anti-money laundering rules, tax law and CIMA's requirements. This is a legal obligation.
I will not sell your information or use it for marketing without your permission.
Who I share it with
Only where needed, with:
- service providers that help me run the business, such as my email and calendar provider (Microsoft 365), online booking service (Calendly), website host (Netlify), and accounting and cloud storage software;
- HMRC or other authorities, where you ask me to act for you or the law requires it;
- CIMA, as my professional and anti-money laundering supervisor, if it reviews my work;
- my professional advisers and insurers, where necessary.
This site loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your browser's IP address when you view a page.
Some providers may store data outside the UK. Where they do, they use safeguards recognised under UK data protection law.
How long I keep it
- Enquiries that don't lead to work: up to 12 months.
- Client records: seven years after our work together ends, in line with tax and company law requirements.
- Anti-money laundering records: five years after our work together ends.
